John E. Rynkiewicz 79 of Elbridge passed away at home on Monday May 2, 2016. Born in Syracuse, John was a 1955 graduate of Solvay High School. He retired in 2001 after 46 years at Crucible Specialty Metals. He was a member of Local 1277 USWA, served in the US Army from 1960-1962, coached Little League Baseball in Elbridge for many years, was a Webelos leader, was a member of and an usher at St. Patrick’s Church, Jordan and was a Charter Member, Past Grand Knight and past Financial Secretary of Monsignor Meaney Council 9042 Knights of Columbus. John was known for his dry wit and positive outlook on life.
John was predeceased by his parents Frank and Lottie Rynkiewicz, his eight siblings and his beloved grandson Jacob Rynkiewicz (2007). Survivors include his wife of 48 years, the former Diana Rudy, eight sons: Michael, Steven (Nancy), Peter (Mary Lynn), David, Paul (Jackie Bruce), Andrew (Jen), John Jr. (Kate) and Matthew (Shannon), 10 grandchildren, sister-in-law Jean Rynkiewicz and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 2-5pm Sunday, May 8th at the Bush Funeral Home 120 E. Main St. (Rt.5) Elbridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10am Monday in St. Patrick’s Church 28 N. Main St. Jordan. The Rite of Committal and burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Restoration Fund, P.O. Box 567, Jordan, NY 13080
