Winifred M. Eggleston, 92, of Weedsport, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020, at home surrounding by her family.
The daughter of the late Clarence and Grace Strobel, Winifred was born in the town of Middleville, NY on May 22, 1928.
She was a department supervisor at the Syracuse Developmental Center for over 25 years. Winifred was an avid golfer for many years during her retirement in Florida.
Winifred is survived by her daughters, Sheena Miller of Weedsport, and Connie Kupris and her husband, Jerry of Norwich, and her son, Alan Eggleston and his wife Lori, of Elbridge, and a step-daughter, Sharon McIlhenney and her husband, Jim, of Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Alison Hall, Jessica Miller, Renee Eggleston, Bonnie, Julie and Crystal Kupris, Robbie Miller, Bernie Empie and his wife, Andrea, Kevin McIlhenney and Scott Myers. Great-grandchildren: Austin Hall, Aidan and Avery Littebrandt, Airyan, Neo, Mack, and Freya Miller, Conner and Gwen Empie, Troy and Mackenzie Myers, and Jessica and Shannon McIlhenney. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Lollie Signor of Inverness, Florida.
Winifred was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Charles, two step-daughters, Bonnie Myers-Harelick and Charlene Empie-Anthony, four sisters: Laura Downing, Doris Phetteplace, Helen Reese and Charlotte Jennings, and two brothers: Wesley and Lawrence Strobel.
Family and friends are invited to call on the family 4:00-6:00pm Thursday, July 23rd at the First Baptist Church, 2707 Liberty St. Weedsport with services immediately following.
