Shirley Ann Lippert Obituary
Shirley Ann (Pickard) Lippert, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 21, 2024. She was born in
Memphis, NY to Clayton and Hattie Pickard, December 25, 1936, interrupting a perfectly good Christmas
dinner, as she always said. She attended various schools and graduated from North Syracuse High
School. Shirley married her high school sweetheart, Jon F Lippert, in 1958.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her pride and joy were her
family. She attended scores of athletic and music events, watching her children and grandchildren
perform and compete no matter the weather or the distance. A high light each year was the annual
family vacation at Raquette Lake NY, with Mom making sure we all had a great time and plenty to eat.
Shirley was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Memphis where she served as church
secretary, in many ladies’ and children’s ministries. She was honored for 56 years of service as a Sunday
School teacher. Shirley made beautiful wedding cakes and crocheted many blankets for family and
friends.
Shirley will be tremendously missed by her family. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Jon, and
survived by her children: Penny (Tim) Voegele of Sioux Falls SD, Russell Lippert of Cato NY, Michael
(Tami) Lippert of Tully NY, and Kathy (Alastair) Wright of Evansville IN; 12 grandchildren and 12 great
grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sisters; Sharon Sullivan, Beverly Hartman, and Bonnie Look; and predeceased
by her sister Barbara McDougal.
Calling hours will be 10:00 am to 12:30 pm Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Memphis, 1960 W.
Genessee Turnpike (Rt. 5), Elbridge with services to follow at 1 pm with the Rev. Benjamin Johnson
