Ruth G. Richner Obituary

Ruth Gorham Richner of 205 Meadow Rd, Elbridge NY passed away at her home on

Saturday June 8, 2024, at age 99.

Ruth graduated in1943 from Elbridge High School and in1948 as a chemistry major from

Keuka College. While there, she rowed in the May Day crew race. She next worked at Eastman

Kodak as a lab technician and met her husband, Lt. Fred Richner. As a navy reservist, he was

shipped out to San Diego CA where they were married in 1951. Fred was then stationed in Hawaii, and Ruth returned to Elbridge. After his naval discharge they lived in several locations and ended up in Harrington Park NJ where she became very active in the Garden Club and became president.

Ruth enjoyed boating and was an avid bridge player, becoming a certified Life Master. She continued her passion well into her 90’s.

She was predeceased by her husband Frederick. Ruth is survived by her sister, Sandra Gorham Crooks (Robert) of Schroon Lake NY, niece Tammy (Evan)Westlake of Dalton MA, and grandnephews Connor and Benjamin Westlake, nephew Bradley (Jessica)Ward of East Windsor, NJ and grandnephew James, and cousins, Bruce Wood, Dan Wood, and Cindy Gorham-Crevelling. A Memorial Service will be 1:00pm Saturday, July 27, 2024 in the Elbridge Community Church, 109 E. Main Street.
