Roxann Sherman Obituary

Roxie’s last day, May 30th, 2021, was one that was filled with family, friends, fun, and love. She passed away the following day surrounded by her family.

Roxie was born in Syracuse on July 14, 1951. She lived her entire life in her favorite village, Elbridge. Getting her appendix out inspired Roxie to become a nurse, beginning her journey as a candy striper at age 14 and continuing working for Auburn Hospital as an ER, and clinic nurse who devoted her life, compassion, and kindness to various strangers for over 50 years.

From 1996 – 2016 Roxie worked as a school nurse for the Jordan Elbridge school district. Here she made a difference for numerous students and teachers who relied on her for medical and personal advice. She used this opportunity working at the school to begin her work giving back to this community that she adored.

She spent her retirement doing her favorite job, spending days and countless hours with her granddaughters. She was a loving, dedicated Grandmother who would do anything for her girls.

Roxie is predeceased by her father, Charles Sherman. Surviving to cherish her memory are her mother, Alice Sherman, son, Michael Sherman (Alicia), siblings, Jeff Sherman, and Cindy Kowatch, nieces and nephews, Jessica Ellsworth (Matt), Stephanie Rotondo (Nick), Matthew Kowatch (Katie), Zach and Kyle Sherman. Great swimming nieces and nephews, Hannah and Mattie Ellsworth, Emma, and Ryan Rotondo, and beloved grand – daughters, Emilia, and Elaine Sherman.
