Roger W. Shalala, 80, of Elbridge passed away Nov. 20, 2021. Born in Torrington, Conn in 1941, moved to Syracuse in 1942 and to Elbridge in 1966. He graduated from Smith Tech in 1959 and then served in the Air Force from 1959 to 1963. Roger was employed with Wegmans Food Markets for 22 years before becoming a Home Health Aide with All Metro Health Care in 2009. He was a long time member of the Elbridge Community Church and he was a Life Member of the Elbridge Fire Department where he served for 55 years and was Department Secretary for 30 years.
Roger was predeceased by his parents David and Matilda Shalala, his wife of 44 years Linda in 2008, and his brother Robert in 2017.
Surviving are his daughter Susan (Jon) Curry of Bracey, VA and his son David of Liverpool, grandchildren Miranda (Reid) Parks and Zachary (Leah) Curry both of Bracey, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 10am to noon Saturday, Nov 27th at the Elbridge Community Church, 109 E. Main St. with a service to follow at noon. Burial with Military Honors will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Elbridge Community Church, Elbridge Fire Dept. or Jordan Ambulance Fund.
