Rodney Ray Holbrook

                It is with great sadness that the family of Rodney R. Holbrook announces his passing at home on Monday, September 22, 2025 after a long and brave struggle with pulmonary fibrosis.  A graduate of Jordan Elbridge High School, Rodney lived his entire life in Jack’s Reef, the son of the late Gerald and Anna Holbrook.  Following high school, he joined with his father in the family business – Holbrook Roofing – taking pride in learning to repair and replace roofs before starting up his own business - Rod Holbrook Construction. 

                Rodney was a faithful and kind man who loved living, boating and fishing on the Seneca River, raising his family along the river just as he had been.   He and his wife, Martha, married in September of 1976 and had four children:  Maryann Holbrook, Austin Holbrook (Jen), Brett Holbrook (Laurie) and Cody Holbrook (Erin).  He loved his family deeply.

                Rodney was skilled at wood working, creating model ships, bookcases and cradles among other pieces.  A diehard Yankees fan, he could be heard cheering his team on the evening before he passed.  His little dog, Moufasa, was a constant companion who will miss sitting on Rod’s lap.

                The Holbrook family was a large one with Rodney being one of ten children.  He is predeceased by brother Gerald Holbrook, Jr. and sisters Sandra Schenck and Suzanne Woods. In addition to his immediate family, Rodney is survived by siblings Joanne Thomas, Bruce Holbrook (Marcia), Brenda Cook (Brian), Greg Holbrook, Kevin Holbrook and Kelly Burrows(Randie) grandchildren Rebecca Holbrook, Dakota Holbrook, Tehya Holbrook, Sophia Holbrook and Callum Holbrook, along with several nieces and nephews. [as well as his mother-in-law, Mary Uhl, brothers-in-law Peter Uhl (Darcie) and Stephen Uhl].

                Services will be held on Friday, September 26, at Bush Funeral Home, 120 E. Main Street, Elbridge, NY with visiting hours from 2-5 pm and a memorial service to follow.
