Robert I. Weatherstone, Jr., 60 of Elbridge passed away Wednesday Jan. 11, 2023.
Rob was a 1981 Graduate of Jordan Elbridge Schools. He loved all High School sports, especially lacrosse, and Musicals. He supported many events and you could always find him there when he could attend.
He was a truck driver for Barr Transportation for 37 years.
His love of DIRT car and snowmobile racing took him from Canada to Charlotte. If there was a track nearby, and he could be, he was there!
His love of food and cooking for others brought him great joy! His BBQ Pulled Pork and Chicken were often requested. He loved cooking turkey for Thanksgiving for anyone that wanted to drop it off!
He enjoyed all the camping trips with our close and extended family (head cook) and the reunions on Cross Lake.His love for family was a gift.
He was a long-time active member in the Weedsport Winter Wanderers snowmobile club and enjoyed competitive bowling. He was the spotter for the Greased pole climb for many years and helped out in the donut booth for the Jordan Fall Festival. He volunteered for anyone that needed it.
He was known as the “Gentle Giant”, and his huge hugs are going to be missed by many!
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert I Sr. and Patricia (Godfrey), and great-granddaughter Phoenix Chrisleigh Arnold.He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Louanne, daughter Tara (Jake) Dennee, Granddaughter Kyleigh (Christian) Arnold, Great Granddaughter Alaska Arnold. Sisters Stacy (Jim) Weatherstone, Lisa (Steve) Morgan and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 2-5 Sunday Jan. 15 at the Elbridge Community Church, 109 E. Main St. Elbridge with a service to follow at 5pm (at the church).Reception will be held immediately following services at The American Legion, Post 317 in Skaneateles Falls, 4572 Jordan Road, Skaneateles, NY. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Jordan.
Per Rob’s request, please do NOT dress up! “I want people to come as they are.”Please wear your favorite racing shirt or High School jersey.
