Penelope “Penny” Renee Ceratt, a devoted Mother, loving Grandmother, and longtime employee of the Town of Elbridge Assessing Office, passed away on May 8, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her daughter, Chrystal Barrigar, son in law Michael Barrigar, Sr. and her three cherished Grandchildren; Michael Jr., Delaney, and Wesley. She was lovingly referred to as “Super Grandma.”She is survived by her siblings Cindy (Michael) Weirs, Frederick (Margaret) Ceratt II, and was predeceased by her brother Jeffrey Ceratt Sr. in the same day of May 8, 2024. Her dedication extended to her nine nieces and nephews and their many children.
Penny dedicated decades of her life to caring for her parents, her family, the family’s horse stables, and serving her community. She was a life member of Christ Episcopal Church where she also volunteered. She dedicated time regularly to the Onondaga County 4-H Horse program and ran their Talent Showcase for many years. She was a graduate of Cayuga Community College and served as the Assessing Clerk at the Town of Elbridge since 1995. Penny’s warmth, dedication and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will forever be treasured in the hearts of her family, friends, and the community she served faithfully.
Calling Hours will be Monday, May 13, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at Christ Church, 25 N Main St, Jordan, NY. Funeral will be held Tuesday, May 14, at 11 a.m. at the church with procession following to Greenlawn Memorial Park for burial. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, PO Box 571, Jordan, NY 13080.
