Michael Alan White

Michael Alan White, 81, of Elbridge, NY passed away on January 15, 2026 surrounded by loving family.

Michael was born May 28, 1944 in Syracuse, NY, the son of the late Edward and Gladys (Blume) White.

Michael graduated from Jordan-Elbridge Junior/Senior High School’s first graduating class in 1963. As a member of the U.S. Navy from 1966-1969, he served on the USS Ticonderoga in the Vietnam War.

In 1975, Michael graduated from Le Moyne College with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Relations. He graduated Summa Cum Laude, an accolade he proudly reminded us of. A champion of unions, he worked as a Labor Relations Specialist with CSEA for 35 years.

Michael especially loved drumming, and in 2002, proudly released a CD with his Irish band, The Flying Column. The album was humorously called Finally, a nod to the length of time it took them to complete the project.

Michael was also a proficient woodworker, building his family home in Jordan, NY in 1983, and remodeling his current home.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy White, and their Yorkie, Louie. He also leaves behind his former wife, Toni Ruelle, with whom he shares three children, Jennifer (Anthony) Tortorice, Jared White, and Nicole (Daniel) Prietti. He is also survived by his step-children, Molly Wallace, Zack (Yami) Wallace, and Nellie (Hunter) Schindo, brother Gary (Michelle) White, sister Jacqueline Rogers, brother-in-law Jim (Polly) McCarthy, sisters-in-law Karen (Jack) Henion, Kay White, and Catherine Bush, and grandchildren, Kayen, Hayliana, Nico, Dylan, and Clark, and several nieces and nephews. Michael is predeceased by brothers Edward and Milton White.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 20th, 3-6pm, at Bush Funeral Home, located at 120 East Main St. Elbridge, NY. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 21st at 10am at St. Mary’s of the Lake, located at 10 W Austin St, Skaneateles, NY.
