Lois S. Maloney 91 of Memphis went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 10, 2022. Born in Van Buren, Lois lived in the Memphis area for all 91 years. She retired in 1993 after 24 years with Onondaga-Cortland-Madison BOCES. Lois was a 1947 graduate of Jordan High School. Lois was a faithful and long time member of the First Baptist Church of Memphis.
Lois was predeceased by her husband Charles of 65 years and sister Gladys Colton of Antwerp, New York.
Lois was talented at sewing and crocheting as well as quilting. She loved gardening with her husband, Charles, and especially loved growing several varieties of flowers. Lois and Charles were loyal fans of the Syracuse Nationals NBA basketball team and attended every game that they could. Lois enjoyed family camping, canoeing and hiking in the Adirondacks and loved the wildlife that traversed their backyard and woodland. Lois loved spending time with all of her grandchildren and was a very good conversationalist and loved to have fun and laugh.
She is survived by four sons, Charles (Susan) of Phoenix, Timothy of Memphis, David (Polly) of Brewerton, and Robert (Melina) of Rochester, a daughter Laurie (Paul) Micale of Liverpool, 9 grandchildren Colleen, Jennifer (Derek) Eason, Elise (Matthew) Brown, Lauren, Adam Mead, Morgan, Matthew, Daniella and Giovanna, and two great grandchildren, Isaac and Owen Eason and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 2-6 pm Monday at the First Baptist Church of Memphis, 1960 W. Genesee Turnpike (Rt. 5) Elbridge. Funeral service immediately thereafter at the church with the Rev. Benjamin Johnson officiating. There will be a Spring Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the memorial fund of the First Baptist Church of Memphis. The Bush Funeral Home of Elbridge has charge of arrangements.
