D. Karen Platten passed from this life into the next to meet her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 23, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer. She had recently celebrated her 80th birthday on October 6, surrounded by her family at home. She now goes to walk in the gardens of Heaven, much as she did during her life here on Earth.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard of Jordan, NY; her children David (Carrie) of Canandaigua, NY; Todd of Jordan, NY; Jennifer of South Burlington, VT; Chad (Erin) of Weedsport, NY; 8 grandchildren; Shelby Platten, Finley Killeen, Rowan Killeen, Emma Platten, Eric Platten, Samuel Platten, Sarah Ann Platten, Mariah Platten, her sister Janet Marchbanks of Fairport, NY and many cousins, nephews, nieces, grand nephews & grand nieces.
She was predeceased by her parents Willard and Isabel (Dills) Hughey, her sister and brother-in-law Ann (Louis) Dahlman and her sister Jane Hughey all of West Valley, NY.
Karen dedicated most of her life to serving her family, her community, and her church, and far too many organizations to list.
Calling hours will be held at the Jordan United Methodist Church on Friday, October 30th from 3:00 - 6:00. Due to COVID restrictions, the funeral will be invitation only and will follow at 7 PM.
