Juann Cunningham, 100, of Skaneateles, New York, passed away at home on November 30, 2025. Born and raised in Bayshore and Lawrence, New York, She and her family moved to Skaneateles in 1961 and called it home.
Juann is predeceased by her husband, Francis J. Cunningham, Sr. and her son, Timothy S. Cunningham, Sr. She is survived by her children Francis J. Cunningham, Jr. (Mary Clare Codd), C. Brett Cunningham (Enid Ryan), Diana G. Cunningham, four grandchildren (Timothy Jr., Shawn, Geoffrey and Thomas), a niece, a nephew and three great grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Juann was a wife, mother to all, interior decorator, seamstress, poet, author, artist and, her favorite, equestrian. Her peace of mind came on the on the back of her horse on trails or hunt fields with Limestone Creek Hunt and from the calm and smells in the barn. She was the most positive human being on the planet and could make you believe you could do anything. She saw the positive in all things. Certain of her children wonder how she could do this day after day for a hundred years and change, but she managed.
Juann’s children got the mother everyone seemed to want. The last words she shares should be the ones she so frequently spoke as people walked out the door: “Take care of each other.” And there is no question that, as the reader reads, she is on the dance floor with her husband again, after decades of waiting.
Calling hours are Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 4-6pm followed by a brief service at Bush Funeral Home, 120 East Main Street, Elbridge, NY. Burial will be Bath National Cemetery.
