John Robert O'Connor Obituary

John Robert O’Connor, 61, of Cato passed away Saturday at home. Born in Auburn, John lived Port Byron and Red Creek before moving to the town of Cato. He retired from the NYS Canal System where he was a maintenance supervisor. John enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years Valerie Phair O’Connor, four children James (Kim) O’Connor, Daniel (Angela) O’Connor, Erin (Harold Frisbee) O’Connor, and Amber Lawless, his father James O’Connor, 3 brothers Terry, Brian, and Brendon, 2 sisters Karen Peterson and Bridget Yarman, 13 grandchildren, one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

 Friends and family are invited to a celebration of John’s life 2pm Saturday, August 31st at 8632 Fields Hill Road, Red Creek.
