Howard Gary Kenyon

On 7 Mar 2023 Howard Gary Kenyon (Peanut Butter), 86, of Elbridge passed away at Auburn hospital. He was predeceased by his wife Marjorie (Dolly) Kenyon, parents Edith and Howard Kenyon, daughter Joyce Merkley, son Gary Kenyon, daughter-in-law Linda, sisters Karen Clark, Beverly Hunter and brother Duane Kenyon.

He is survived by his children Sheila (Scott) Johnson, Donna (Martin) McClain, Patsy (Kirk) Allen, Bruce (Shelly) Kenyon, Robert Evans, son-in-law Albert Merkley and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by sister Barb (Howard) Bower and brother Richard (Carol) Kenyon.

He retired from the NY State DOT after 33 years, 20 years in the NY Army National Guard, Served as a volunteer firefighter for the Elbridge and Jordan area for 50 years. He and his wife fostered children for 7 years. He enjoyed attending bluegrass and country music events, fireworks shows, playing Bingo and going to festivals and traveling to many countries throughout the world.The Kenyon family wishes to thank the caregivers and all the staff that contributed to Howard’s care.

Calling hours will be 10am to noon Friday March. 10th at the Bush Funeral Home, 120 E. Main St. (Rt. 5) Elbridge with a service to follow at noon with the Rev. Floyd Duger officiating. Gathering at Elbridge Fire House at 1 pm. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Elbridge Volunteer Fire Dept.
