Harold Jay Crandon

Harold J. Crandon, 78, of Baldwinsville NY passed away August 5th, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a lengthy bout with heart disease.  His family and friends are most grateful for the bonus years he shared with us thanks to his LVAD pump and the excellent staff at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Harold was a graduate of Baldwinsville High School.  He was a dairy farmer, loving husband and father on the family  farm on East Sorrell Hill Rd. in Warners NY.    He drove a school bus for Baldwinsville Schools, sat on the Town of Van Buren’s Planning Board and the Board of Directors for the Baldwinsville Co-op, and served several positions in NYS Farm Bureau & the Grange.  Harold was also active in 4H, Young Farmers & Ranchers, the ASCS Board, and the NYS Agricultural Assessment Program.

Harold was a wise counselor and steadying influence for all who knew him.  He liked both field work and working with animals including doing much of the veterinary and husbandry work with his dairy herds.   He enjoyed family card games, classic country music, western movies & novels, and traveling.

He is predeceased by his parents, Lloyd & Winifred Navin Crandon, his brother Arthur, and his infant son, James Matthew Crandon.   He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Connie, two sons; David (Karen) & John (Kim), six grandchildren, and his sister Maralee Crandon.

Calling hours will be at First United Methodist Church in Baldwinsville on Wednesday, August 11th, from 4-6pm followed by a Celebration of Life service.  A private interment will be at Riverview Cemetery in Baldwinsville.  Bush Funeral Home in Elbridge is handling the arrangements.
