Hannelore Sheffield Obituary

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Hannelore (Hannah) Sheffield, 92, died on February 28, 2025 after a short illness. She was born on August 21, 1932 to Franziska and Georg Herbst in Furth, Germany. She met and married her husband, Gene while he was serving in the US Army in Germany. They moved to Jordan, NY in 1949. Hannah worked at General Electric for many years but she most enjoyed working at the Elbridge Variety Store after retiring from GE.
She is predeceased by her daughter, Karen, and her husband, Gene. She is survived and sorely missed by her children, Susan Sheffield of Syracuse, Richard of Weedsport, Martin of Mount Dora, Florida, Phillip of Hickory, North Carolina, Brian of Jordan; grandchildren, Eric Sheffield, Jennifer Sheffield, Nicholas Sheffield, Michael Sheffield, Matthew Sheffield, Alyssa Sheffield and Morgan Sheffield, and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed. Hannah never wanted to be the center of attention, so at her request, there won’t be any services.
Those that wish to remember Hannah, may make gifts in her memory to the CNY SPCA.
