Florence L. (Wolfe) Dann, 84, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully this Tuesday January 9, 2024.  Florence was born in Brewerton on April 14, 1939 to Paul J. and Florence M. Wolfe. She graduated from Baker High School in Baldwinsville in 1956 and worked as a secretary and bookkeeper throughout her career.  She most notably worked as the sole bookkeeper and administrative assistant for Weedsport Tool and Machine for over 40 years. 

Florence loved horses and had a soft spot for all stray animals.  She was an avid reader, and she loved her garden and the outdoors.  She was extremely resourceful and independent.  She could fix a flat, hammer a nail, shingle a roof, or troubleshoot a small engine better than many men, which was memorable for a woman of her generation.

Florence was predeceased by her mother, father and six older siblings.  Her husband of 55 years, Phillip E. Dann, of Jordan, passed away in 2012.  She is survived by three daughters: Gail (Kenneth) Fitzpatrick, of Baldwinsville; Cynthia (Steven) Grimm, of Syracuse; and Barbara Hopkins, of Port Byron.  Florence also held a special place in her heart for her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Nascentia Home Healthcare, especially Kim V. of Baldwinsville, who assisted her for more than three years while living at home.  The family also thanks the kind staff at The Commons on Saint Anthony, in Auburn, who lovingly helped support her in her final months. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, of CNY.

Friends and family are invited to call from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday January 20, with services immediately following, at Bush Funeral Home, 120 E. Main Street, Eldridge, with the Rev. John DeLorenzo officiating.  A Celebration of Life and burial in the Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery will occur in the spring.
