Eleanor “Ellie” R. Briggs, 93 of Elbridge, NY, passed away on January 30, 2024. 

Eleanor was born the daughter of the late Leland and Ethel (Stehler) Walton on August 4, 1930. 

Eleanor was employed as an RN for many years, but her passion for helping others extended far beyond her career.  She always said “I do not need a lot; someone else will always need it more than I do”.  Eleanor enjoyed working endlessly in the garden, traveling and most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren.  Each of her grandchildren were asked to describe their beloved grandmother in one word. 

“Our Grandma was the best!  Grandma was a selfless, hard-working, resilient, resourceful, naturalist, who had an adventurous spirit and a caregiver’s soul.”

Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Briggs; brothers Leland G. and Richard J. Walton.

Eleanor will be remembered by her children Debra (Tom) Dawson, Alan (Barbara) Briggs and Cathy Barrigar; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  At Eleanor’s request there will be no calling hours or services.
