Elaine N. Samuels, 85, of Elbridge died Feb. 9, 2022. She was born in Little Falls Hospital to Jack and Beatrice Samuels of St. Johnsville. They later lived in Dolgeville, Rome and Utica. Elaine came to Syracuse in 1956 where she worked for 20 years as a secretary-receptionist for several professional offices and became a licensed realtor in 1976. She attended Utica College and University College of Syracuse University over the years and has a degree in Humanities from OCC. She retired in the early 2000s after running her own business as a reservation service for up to 70 Bed & Breakfasts, inns, and guest houses in CNY and New England. She traveled all over the Northeast inspecting the accommodations and getting to know the hosts and hostesses at the places she represented. She was a founding member of the Syracuse Little Theater and active in local theater for approximately 10 years. Elaine was a long time member of a group known as “Educated Singles” and later Mature Business and Professional Singles which she hosted many times in the 1990s. To those who knew her, she was a self-made, fiercely independent woman who loved her home, her hobbies and her cats. There are no known relatives. Private graveside services will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Jordan.
