David Maitland, lifetime resident of Jordan, peacefully died Wednesday November 22 at the age of 93. He was predeceased by his parents Reginald and Florence Maitland, five brothers and two sisters. David is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Jane (Carter) Maitland. He is also survived by his children David (Patricia) Maitland, Deborah Pelmear, Doreen (Jim) Goebel, Donald (Kathryn Bradford) Maitland, Douglas (Lisa Poullot) Maitland; grandchildren Matthew, Bethany, Jolene, Heather, James, Zachary, Olivia, Chelsea; and five great grandchildren. Following several years of employment at Jordan Wire Mill, David worked construction and, for over 60 years, belonged to Upstate New York Operating Engineers. David often arrived home cheerfully whistling even after working long days in extreme weather. A parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Jordan, David ushered for many years and volunteered at church luncheons. He also enjoyed coaching Little League baseball, and attending his children’s sports and music events. David loved his family and will be sorely missed. Calling hours will be 4-7pm Thursday, Nov. 30th at the Bush Funeral Home 120 E. Main St. (Rt. 5) Elbridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Friday in St. Patrick’s Church, Jordan. Contributions may be made to St. Patrick Church of Jordan or Jordan Ambulance Fund.
