David M. Haines,76, of Skaneateles went home to the Lord on October 18, 2018, on his and his wife's 31st wedding anniversary. He was born in Bristol, PA to the late Joseph M. and P. Olwyn (Morgan) Haines. He graduated from the George School a preparatory school in 1959 and later attended the University of Nevada. Dave was with J.D. Morrissey Construction out of Bucks County, PA until he moved to Syracuse in 1975. He was the General Construction Superintendent of Santaro Industries until 1985 when he began working with Maxim Construction Services in East Syracuse. Dave was a Free & Accepted Mason and a member of the Jordan Lodge No. 386. He was also a birth-rite Quaker.
Surviving Dave is his loving wife Cherie L. (Bowers) Haines, and his children David W. Haines (Pamela), Holly McCurdy (Rick), Rebecca Shiffer (Joseph), Joseph M. Haines II (Mary Lou) and Taylor M. Haines (Megan). He is also survived by his five grandchildren, one great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 4 to 8pm Friday, Oct.26th at the First Baptist Church of Memphis, 1960 W. Genesee Turnpike (Rt. 5) Elbridge. Funeral will be 11am Saturday, Oct. 27th at the church. A Masonic graveside service will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Rt. 317, Jordan, NY. Service and burial are open for all to come.
