David C. Gleason, 70, of Jordan, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 1, 2024. He was
born on October 3, 1953 to Robert C. and Elizabeth (Jenson) Gleason of Holley, NY. He is a graduate of
RIT, Syracuse University and SUNY Cortland. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Dave
enjoyed being with family, playing golf, watching baseball, horses, soccer, reading, working outdoors and
walks with his dog.
David is survived by his loving wife, Diane of 46 years, daughters Katherine (Raymond) Turner,
Elizabeth (Silas) VanNorstrand, and his grandsons Evan Turner and Stetson VanNorstrand. He is also
survived by his sisters Ruth (Donald) Barone, and Rebecca (Richard) Hendel, along with several nieces
and nephews.
Dave was a School Business Official for the Fulton, Elmira, North Tonawanda, and Geneva school
districts. His last position was the Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations for Rockland
County BOCES. He was an Honorary member of the Jordan Fire Department, a past President of the
Jordan Elbridge School Board, and was a Deputy Mayor for the Village of Jordan. He had served as a
Board member for Empower Federal Credit Union, and NYCLASS. He was a Freemason, a member of
the Knights of Columbus, the Ancient Order of Hibernians and St. Patrick’s church in Jordan where he
was an usher for Sunday services.
Calling hours will be  Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 4-7 pm at the Bush Funeral Home, 120 E. Main St.
Elbridge, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Friday, September 13, 2024 in St.
Patrick Church, Jordan, NY. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Fillmore, NY. Contributions may be made to the Jordan Fire Department or the J-E Food Pantry,
