Christopher Twomey Obituary

Christopher John Twomey, 33, of Jordan, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully in his sleep
on March 14 th , 2023, in his family’s home. He was born on October 9 th , 1989, in Syracuse, New
York to his parents Susan Anne Platt and Jeffrey John Twomey.

Christopher was predeceased by his grandfather Herman Platt, grandmothers Marilyn Platt and
Linda Twomey Mann, and uncle Robert Temple. Surviving are his parents Jeffrey Twomey and
Susan Platt; siblings Jeff Platt (Jess Brenner), Nicholas (Natalie) Twomey, and Mikayla Twomey
(Brendon Acevedo); nephew Ayden Platt; aunts and uncles Lonnie Platt, Jeffrey “Unc” Platt,
Chris Platt (Kim LeClair Coon), Michelle “Shelley” Weatherstone (Lanny Coleman), and
Carlene Twomey; grandfather James (Denise) Twomey; his pets, many cousins and friends.

Chris lived most of his life in Jordan and went by the nickname “C”. He was well known for
wrestling from elementary to middle school at Jordan-Elbridge. Chris won several trophies,
played football, and had many friends. Uncle Lon would take Chris to wrestling tournaments
almost every Saturday morning growing up. As a child every summer, Chris loved to dive and
flip off the diving board at the Jordan Memorial Pool. Entering his teenage years, he and his
friends would go to the Rock Quarry, and spent time at the shutes. They would always go to the
state ditch bridge and do flips. Chris was a talented artist and made beautiful illustrations for his
family, especially for his little sister Mikayla who shared the same hobby. He knew how to enjoy
life by going fishing with his brothers Nick, Jeff, his Uncle Jeff, and cousins. He also would go
skateboarding around the village of Jordan with his good friends. Oftentimes, he enjoyed garlic
knots from Towpath Pizzeria and making root beer floats from Family Dollar. He never missed
the Jordan Memorial Parade each year and loved the apple cider and donuts from the Fall
Festival. Chris was an awesome uncle to Ayden and loved spending time by riding bikes and
bicycles with him. As a grandson, Chris and Grandma Marilyn meant a lot to each other, and
they were two peas in a pod. Christopher loved his whole family.

In 2009, Chris was employed by Apple Roofing Corp. and worked closely with his father and his
brother Jeff Platt. Briefly he worked at International Wire in Jordan and returned to Apple after
leaving. Chris was a hard worker with tremendous grit. To friends and family, he was a positive
force in their lives and was loved, especially for his smile. He will be deeply and greatly missed
by all of them. Christopher was beyond a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and
friend. Chris’s life motto always was “Mind over matter”.

Thank you to Apple Roofing Corp. and Brian and Dave for the generous contributions in our time of need.
