Christopher John Twomey Obituary
Christopher John Twomey, 33, of Jordan, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 14 th ,
2023, in his family’s home. He was born on October 9 th , 1989, in Syracuse, New York to his
parents Susan Platt and Jeffrey Twomey.
Christopher was predeceased by his grandfather Herman Platt, grandmothers Marilyn Platt and
Linda Twomey Mann, and uncle Robert Temple. Surviving are his parents Jeffrey Twomey and
Susan Platt; siblings Jeff Platt (Jess Brenner), Nicholas (Natalie) Twomey, and Mikayla
Twomey; nephew Ayden Platt; uncles Lonnie Platt, Jeffrey “Unc” Platt, Chris Platt, and aunt
Carlene Twomey; grandfather James (Denise) Twomey; his pets, many cousins and friends.
Chris experienced most of his life in Jordan and went by the nickname “C”. He was a well-
known wrestler from elementary to middle school at Jordan-Elbridge. Chris won several
wrestling trophies, played football, and had many, many friends. Uncle Lon would take Chris to
wrestling tournaments almost every Saturday morning growing up. Every summer during his
youth, Chris loved to dive and flip off the diving board at the Jordan Pool. Entering his teenage
years, he and his friends would go to the Rock Quarry, and spent time at the shutes. They would
always go to the state ditch bridge and do flips. Chris was a talented artist and created beautiful
illustrations for his family, especially for his sister Mikayla, and inspired her persistently. He
enjoyed life by going fishing with his brothers Jeffrey, Nick, Uncle Jeff, and cousins. He was a
skateboarder in Jordan with his friends occasionally. Chris regularly supported Towpath Pizza,
loved their garlic knots, and utilized his ingredients for root beer floats from Family Dollar. He
seldom missed the Jordan Memorial Parade each year and had a sweet tooth for the apple cider
and donuts from the Fall Festival. Chris was an awesome uncle to Ayden and spent time riding
bikes with him. As a grandson, Chris meant immensely to Grandma Platt, and they were two
peas in a pod. Christopher’s entire family was significant to him.
Apple Roofing Corp. employed Chris in 2009, and he worked closely with his father and his
brother Jeff Platt. Briefly he worked at International Wire in Jordan and returned to Apple after
leaving. Chris was a hard worker with tremendous grit. To friends and family, he was a positive
force in their lives and was loved, especially for his smile. He will be deeply and greatly missed
by all of them. Christopher was more than a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend.
Chris’s motto in life was “Mind Over Matter”.
Thank you to Apple Roofing Corp., Brian and Dave for the generous contribution in our time of
need.
