Charles J. Cavallaro Obituary

Charles J. Cavallaro, 75, passed away on August 9, 2022 surrounded by his wife and children. He was born in Syracuse, NY on August 11, 1946 to the late Salvatore & Gaetana Cavallaro. He was a gifted musician and spent decades entertaining the Syracuse music community through numerous bands including The Viceroys, Carnage, Dunes & the Del-Tunes, and many more. His various music stores among other businesses were staples in Central New York. His charismatic personality on stage encouraged everyone to learn to play music. He was an accomplished pilot for over 40 years and loved spending time with his friends and family at the airport. He built two aircraft of his own and encouraged numerous others to build and fly. Apart from music and aviation, he was an avid fan of classic cars and motorcycles. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Drescher, his sister Rosemary Togni, his two daughters Jennifer (Chris) Woodruff, Sara (Ben) Johnson, and his son Jack Cavallaro. He will be missed by his three loving grandchildren, Briggs, Finn and Layne. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 16th at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask you to spend a moment listening to your favorite song.
