Carolyn Louise Moore (Plantz) age 96 passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026 due to complications of dementia. She was born in Syracuse NY, and moved to Jordan at the age of five. She attended and graduated from Jordan Central School.

Carolyn was predeceased in death by her husband of seventy-one years, John Moore; sisters Allura (June) Somes; Doris Lynch; brothers, Robert (Rosie) Plantz; Gordan (Grump) Plantz; and Bruce Plantz; several brothers-in law; and sisters-in-law; and daughter Susan Mills.

Carolyn is survived by her children; Karen (Glen) Hardman; Jon (Vicki) Moore; Linda (John) Daly; Don Moore (Cathy Feocco); Ron Moore (Tammy); twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; sister-in law Mable Plantz; and several nieces and nephews

Carolyn was very active in her community. She began volunteering at the Jordan Fall Festival since its inception, where a young man offered her a ride home in his horse and buggy. She accepted the ride, and within a year she and John were married. They continued working at the festival yearly, which became a family tradition especially after their daughter Susan began running the Donut Booth! Other volunteering endeavors included: teaching Sunday School, was the leader of the Dandy-Lions 4-H club, teaching swimming lessons, made costumes for dance recitals and the church choir.  Carolyn along with her husband John, delivered Meals on Wheels, and of course, they had a great passion being involved with the community food pantry.  This was demonstrated by requesting donations to the pantry for peanut butter instead of gifts for their anniversary and birthdays. Carolyn also had many activities which kept her busy. Including: sewing contests where she won several blue ribbons, bowling leagues, Senior Citizen luncheons, a crafty lunch group, and ceramic classes.. She also kept up on family events through the monthly cousin’s breakfast, which has now expanded two generations.

Calling hours will be Friday April 24, 2026 at 10:00am at the Jordan United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11am. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery immediately following the service.
