On December 6th, 2020, Beatrice Godfrey Williams, 88, formerly of Elbridge, passed away peacefully in Deland, FL with family by her side. She was a loving wife and mother of 11 children. Beatrice was born on February 7th, 1932 in Camillus, New York. She was married to Russell Williams for 44 years and they raised 11 children together. Bea had 101 grand, great-grand, and great-great grandchildren.
Bea is survived by her children: Suzanne Peltier (Don), of Austin, TX, R. Thomas Williams (Ellen) of Elbridge, NY, Richard Williams, of Liverpool, NY, Terry Giese (Don), of Bowie, MD, Lynn Stevenson (Gary), of Pennellville, NY, William Williams (Jeanette), of Cicero, NY, Patricia Baum (Darryl), of Elbridge, NY, Christine Simmons (Alan), of Cato, NY, Daniel Williams (Jenny), of Panama City, Fl., and Joseph Williams (Charlotte), of Orlando, FL. Bea is also survived by her siblings: Norma Thomas, John Godfrey and James Godfrey.
Bea was predeceased in death by her husband, Russell Williams, parents Lester and Dorothy Godfrey, sisters, Alma Greenwald and Patricia Weatherstone, brothers, Lester Godfrey and William Godfrey, her daughter Judy Thomas and her great granddaughter, Taylor Fentress Schell.
Beatrice loved raising her children and being with family and friends. She was a devout Catholic and very passionate in her faith. She enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, completing puzzles, knitting, watching Hallmark movies, playing cards, and eating out. She was involved in school PTA, girl scouts, church choir, NY Club, and involved in both St. Bridget’s and St. Peter’s Churches.
A memorial service will be held at St. Peter’s Church in Deland, Florida on Monday, December 14th, 2020. Due to current restrictions a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church in Skaneateles for the family only. The Rite of Committal and burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
