Michael Joseph Hynes

Michael Joseph Hynes, 67, of Jordan, NY left this world in the early morning hours of Monday October 8th and is now riding free after his battle with cancer. Michael was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on February 11, 1951. He lived in various places across the country, moving from the east coast to the west coast and back to the east coast before settling here in the greater Syracuse area. Michael worked for the State of New York, working with the Central New York Developmental Services Office for over 34 years and retired in December of 2014. He was not only a House Director, but a friend and an advocate to many. He was also a talented artist and had a passion for tattoos. He owned the Mystical Magical Tattoo Studio for 16 years, but was tattooing long before that and gained life-long friendships along the way. Michael is survived by his wife of 31 years, Barbara (Armstrong) Hynes; his children, Heather, Dolores, and James; his grandchildren, Evan, Aidan, Abel, and Brenna; and his siblings, John, Lynn, Dodie, and Richard. He was predeceased by his parents John and Dolores Hynes, and his brother William. 

Calling hours for Michael will be held at Bush Funeral Home, 120 E. Main St. (Rt. 5) Elbridge on Friday October 12th, 4pm to 7pm. Services to immediately follow. Bikes, jeans, and Harley tee’s are encouraged and all are welcome to gather at the family home afterwards. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
