Joan Louise Couch, 87, of Jordan passed away Thursday, November 2nd at The Commons on St. Anthony surrounded by her loving family.  Joan was born in Elbridge and was a lifelong resident of the Jordan area. She was employed for many years in the Underwriting Department of Nationwide Insurance Co. Joan was devoted to her family and friends. She loved her many pets and gardening. Her fun-loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Joan was predeceased by her parents Mark and Pearl Quimby, her husband James R. Couch, her daughter Bonnie Richardson, and brother Mark Quimby Jr.

Surviving are her son James R. (Patricia) Couch, Jr. of Skaneateles, her daughter Patricia (David) Maitland of Cato, sister Sharon Quimby (Dennis SanEmeterio), sisters-in-law Margaret (John) McMurtry of Jordan, Marion (Nolan) Cooper of Indianapolis, Sandra Couch of Pennellville, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Commons for their compassionate and excellent care of Joan during her final days.

Services will be 5:00 pm Monday, November 13th in the First Baptist Church, 30 Clinton St. Jordan. There are no calling hours. Private burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Jordan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
