Dorothy D. Warner 96 of Skaneateles passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017 in Auburn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Newburgh, NY to David and Caroline Davis, she grew up in Syracuse and moved to Skaneateles when she married Harold Warner in 1945. She was co-owner of Warner’s Diner with her husband for 4 years and worked as head day cook for the Cedar House Restaurant for about 10 years and was retired from the Skaneateles Central School Cafeteria in 1981.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Harold F. Warner in 1985, sisters Caroline Sharpe, Hilda Dreher, Helen Bartlett, Ruth Meyers, Katherine Kaupp, Willa Berube, brothers David and Robert Davis.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Patricia and James Thomas of Skaneateles, granddaughter Sharon (Kevin) Kilduff, great granddaughter Christina Higginson of NH, sisters Barbara Russo of Wolcott and Shirley Merritt of Syracuse, sister-in-law Martha Davis of Liverpool, brother-in-law Warren Berube of AL, several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call 10-11am Monday, Sept. 11th at the Burrows Chapel, Lake View Cemetery, W. Genesee St. Skaneateles with services to follow at 11am with the Rev. Joellyn Tuttle officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Following burial service friends are invited to the fellowship hall of the United Methodist Church of Skaneateles. Contributions may be made to SAVES or the Skaneateles United Methodist Church.
