Donald Bard, 92, of Jordan passed away August 11th surrounded by his family. A life-long resident of Jordan, Don dedicated his life to serving his family, friends and community. He was a pivotal member of the Jordan Community Council, Jordan United Methodist Church, and the Jordan Fall Festival. Don also pioneered the community Little League organization
and he was recognized with a plaque on the Jordan-Elbridge Wall of Honor. He formerly served on the Elbridge Town Board. Employed by the NYSDOT for 39 years, Don received a Red Cross Hero Award in 1972 for saving the life of a young girl while on the job. More recently he worked for the Village of Jordan where he used his passion for gardening to beautify the community. Don leaves behind his soul mate of 72 years, Wanda (Howe) Bard, his children Gary (Sue) Bard, Wendy (Steve) Duck, Thomas Bard, Donna (William) Snyder, Donald (Mary) Bard, and David (Dawn) Bard, 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 4-7pm Thursday at the Jordan United Methodist Church, 63 Elbridge St. Jordan. Funeral will be 11am Friday also at the Jordan United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Jordan United Methodist Church, Jordan Community Council, or Jordan Ambulance fund.
