We would like to share Uncle Carl's tribute from his IASM family:
"The IASM remembers longtime friend and a founding father of the IASM,
Carl Tuxill.
When industry professionals began talking about creating a national association of house movers, Carl Tuxill was there from the beginning. Carl helped define the vision of the association, founded in 1983, and later becoming the International Association of Structural Movers. His deep belief in the importance of creating a professional association, to further the best practices being used and to offer networking opportunities, including an annual conference for movers, helped to shape the IASM into what it is today.
When new members joined the association or took on roles on the board of directors, Carl often reached out to them and offered his assistance.
Carl stepped up and began working with the association helping with its events and serving as editor of Structural Mover magazine, the magazine recognized by association membership as the official magazine of Structural Moving.
Carl Tuxill became an honorary member of the IASM many years ago, an act the board of directors took to recognize his significant contributions to the association. Carl Tuxill was a friend to many in the house moving industry. He was a kind, intelligent man and he will be sorely missed by movers across the world.
Godspeed, Mr. Tuxill."
Our families send a very special thank you to IASM's Executive Director, Tammie DeVooght Blaney, who respectfully shared the news of Uncle Carl with his fellow members, and inspired this lovely tribute, and said "I spoke with him about a year ago and said to myself, I want to meet this man!" Thank you Tammie for listening. Thank you IASM for acknowledging Uncle Carl, personally and professionally. God Bless your good work throughout the world!
