Alma J. (Godfrey) Greenwald

Alma J. Greenwald (Godfrey), 89, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019.Born in Elbridge, she was the daughter of the Lester and Dorothy (Case) Godfrey. Alma was married to Robert Greenwald in 1958. 

Alma was a graduate of Elbridge High School, and was employed by the Jordan-Elbridge School District as a School Bus Driver.  Alma was a volunteer for the Elbridge Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for many years.   She enjoyed socializing and family events.

Alma is survived her husband, Robert L. Greenwald, sons John Greenwald of Rochester, Thomas Jankowski and Donald Jankowski, both of Elbridge, and daughter Susan Greenwald of Reading PA. She is predeceased by daughter Rita Leubner, of Cortland. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Alma is survived by sisters Beatrice Williams and Norma Walter, both of Deland Florida, and brothers James Godfrey of Cortland, and John Godfrey of Soap Lake, WA.

Friends may call at the Bush Funeral Home, 120 E. Main St. (Rt. 5) Elbridge on Sunday, March 10th from 1 to 3p.m. Graveside services will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Jordan in the spring.
