Karen J. (Kennedy) Brock

Karen Brock, 71, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 22, 2024. 
Karen was born on September 13,1952 to the late Neil & Helen (Peterson)
Kennedy.  She graduated from West Genesee High School (1970) and earned a
B.S. in Biology from Cedarville University (1974). She was a lifelong resident of
Camillus and enjoyed many outdoor activities.  Traveling with her husband
Eugene; they visited Hawaii, Alaska, and almost every state enjoying God’s
creation and often stopping to see friends and family along the way. In 2012,
Karen travelled to the Philippines to visit her brother and family. In recent years
Karen became a full-time caregiver for her husband.
Karen is survived by her husband of almost 49 years, Eugene; daughters, Sarah
Howanitz and Rachel (Brian) Binder; son, Peter (Kristen) Brock; 3 grandchildren
Abigail, Luke, and Elena Binder; and many nieces and nephews. She is also
survived by her brother Craig (Elaine) Kennedy.
Karen was a faithful and active member of Faith Baptist Church, Baldwinsville
where she volunteered in various ministries.  As a young newlywed she began
her teaching career at Baldwinsville Christian Academy. When her children were
young, Karen took a break from teaching and became a dedicated homemaker.
As they entered school, she returned to teaching science at BCA.
Karen was a person of Christian character and her kindness made it clear to
everyone that she cared deeply. She went to great lengths making sure
everyone’s needs were met before her own. Her greatest joy was when her
family was together and seeing their faith in Christ grow.  While Karen will be
greatly missed, her legacy of kindness and faithfulness will live on for
generations.       
Calling hours at Bush Funeral Home in Elbridge Friday, May 3rd from 4-6:30pm.
Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, May 4th 10 a.m., Faith Baptist
Church, 7312 Van Buren Rd, Baldwinsville. Following the service, burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Warners with a luncheon to follow at the church.
