Walter R. Yawney 87 of Jordan passed away Monday at Auburn Community Hospital. Born in Jordan, Walter was a life time resident of Jordan. He was formerly employed at Dygert’s IGA and the Jordan Laundromat. Walter was a faithful and active communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Jordan where he served as an usher. He was a member of the JE Seniors and he could be found helping at the information and raffle booths every year at the Jordan Fall Festival.

He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Teofila Yawney and all his siblings. Surviving are two sisters-in law Alice Yawney and Caroline Yawney, several nieces and nephews. Walter was affectionally loved by all who knew him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Monday in St. Patrick’s Church, Jordan. The Rite of Committal and burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2-5pm Sunday at the Bush Funeral Home 120 E. Main St. (Rt. 5) Elbridge. Contributions may be made to the Jordan Fire Dept. or the JE Senior Citizens Club.
