Thomas J. (Tom) Klaben 55 of Lake Wales, FL and Jordan, NY died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 13th in Florida. Born in Syracuse, Oct. 5,1960, Tom served in the US Navy for 8 years with the Navy Presidential Honor Guard in Washington, DC. He also served in Charleston, SC and Newport, RI. Tom attended Empire State College earning a Bachelors degree in Operations Management. He worked at Anheuser-Busch, Beechnut, Chobani, Yo Crunch-Dannon and currently with Sun Orchard Juicery. Tom loved spending time with his family, cycling, triathlons, woodworking, camping, and driving the convertible on roads trips with Shirley.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Shirley (Ames) Klaben, his children Sabrina (Travis) Tetrault, Samantha (Jed) Sherwood, Brittany (Kyle) Clifton, Shelby Klaben, and Thomas Klaben Jr., his German Shepherds Gracie, Jenna, and Max; his grandchildren Seamus and Mackenzie Sherwood, Payson Tetrault and Christopher Clifton, his grand-puppies Bella and Zoe, his mother Jane Klaben and siblings Dan, Chris, Sandy, Gary, Karen, Mary, Paul, Matt and Barb.
Calling hours will be 3-7pm Friday at the Bush Funeral Home 120 E. Main St. (Rt. 5) Elbridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 9:00 am Saturday in St. Patrick’s Church, Jordan. The Rite of Committal and Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Skaneateles. In lieu of flowers, masses can be offered and donations may be made to Clear Path for Vets at www.clearpath4vets.com or the Patriot Guard at www.patriotguard.org
