Karen A. Polmanteer 61 of Jordan passed away Sunday. Born in Syracuse, Karen was a life resident of the Jordan area. She was a 1973 graduate of Jordan-Elbridge High School. Karen was an avid apple grower and she operated the Nelson Apple Orchard. For over 40 years Karen participated in the area farmers markets and she was the owner of Windy Acres Farm. Karen was also well known and liked as a rural mail carrier out of the Jordan Post Office.

Surviving are her husband of 37 years Michael L. Polmanteer, son Michael L, Jr., 2 daughters Rachel Polmanteer and Heather (Robert LaFramboise) Polmanteer, 2 sisters Donna (James) Rothfeld and Patty Ingersoll, several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 3-7pm Thursday at the Bush Funeral Home 120 E. Main St. (Rt. 5) Elbridge. Funeral service will be 11am Friday in the Jordan United Methodist Church with the Rev. Glen Hardman officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Karen loved flowers so the family welcomes flowers.
