Janet M. Charette, 78 of Peru Road, Jordan went peacefully to the Lord surrounded by loving family members on Saturday, August 13th. Born in Fulton and raised in Syracuse, NY, she moved to Jordan in 1966 to raise her family.

Mom was the matriarch and cornerstone of our family. She was the positive, motherly figure for not only her own children but for so many others as well. Any child in need was her child; her heart and home were always open. She positively impacted so many lives and the world was a better place with her in it.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was predeceased by her husband of 51 years Bernard W. Charette Sr., brother Gerald L. Dexter Sr. and her grandson Chad Remaley. She is survived by five children, Bernard (Elaine) Charette, Gerald (Kathleen) Charette, Darlene (Doug) Ely, Daniel (Patricia) Charette, Renee (Tim) Woods, grandchildren Erich (Melissa), Jacob (Amanda), and Timothy (Caitlin) Ely, Ashley (Tim) McNally, Taylor (Breanna) Charette, Ryan Charette, Lauren and Mathieu Woods and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Joan, Noreen, Marilyn, and her brother David. Janet’s legacy of family will live on in all the lives and hearts she touched.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, August 18, 2016 in the Community Wesleyan Church, Baldwinsville, NY with a graveside service to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Jordan.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 441 W. Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204 referencing in memory of Janet Charette.
