Donald L. Cronk, 94 of Elbridge passed away Wednesday at home in the care of his loving family. Born March 12, 1923 in Elbridge he was the son of Rose and Frank Cronk. Don lived his whole life in Elbridge and got the title of Mayor of Willow Lane. He worked on the Dode Gorham farm for 18 years and later was custodian at the Elbridge Elementary School for 28 years.

He really enjoyed teasing all the teachers. Don especially enjoyed the belly dancer at his retirement party. Don was an Elbridge volunteer fireman for more than 70 years. He loved his church. For many years he was the repairman and the go to guy. He opened the church on Sunday mornings, for weddings, funerals, and holiday services. Don worked the Christmas suppers, Easter breakfasts, and most church dinners. He could be found in the kitchen running the dishwasher. A special thanks to people at Kinney Drugs where Don was known as “Wilson”.

He was predeceased in 1996 by his first wife, Arlene.

Surviving are his wife Bonnie, step daughters Jan (Allen) Nesbitt and Diane (John) Richards, step sons David (Candy), Steven, William and James Vivenzio and special nephew Ralph (Margaret) Taylor and families.

Funeral will be 1:30pm Sunday in the Elbridge Community Church. Calling hours will be 2-5 pm Saturday at the Bush Funeral Home, 120 E. Main St (Rt.5) Elbridge. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at a later date. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the J-E Food Pantry. Don’s wish was to have you all laughing.
